LUZ DEL MUNDO

Spend a night in old Mexico with Neal Cassady, one of the Beat Generation's most infamous legends, before his mysterious death along the railroad tracks outside of San Miguel de Allende. A foreboding tale based on his final hours, Neal confronts his past alongside his best pal, legendary writer Jack Kerouac, as they ramble through the night during his most forsaken hour. Weaving through a Mexican netherworld of haunting deserts and heavenly bordellos, Neal's search for salvation takes us down a dark road of loss, betrayal, and redemption. Here, Neal's struggle to cross the threshold into his afterlife is guided by the beautiful prostitute Luz who frees him of the condemnation he feared would ride him to his grave. Luz del Mundo is an unnerving, gritty tale of one man's unconscious search for death through his conscious search for experience.   Please visit the Luz del Mundo website for more information: www.luzdelmundomovie.com.

BOOTLEGGERS BANQUET

The successful musician lives an idolized and revered life.  The notoriety and lifestyle of the "rock star" has spawned major magazines, TV shows, and an endless array of documentary films. These offerings provide an entertaining perspective on artists' private and public lives. But in the end, the degree of memorable content that music fans acquire from glossy music magazines and slick TV is questionable. It leaves one asking: Is this all there is?

Enter Bootleggers Banquet . Its goal: to be a successful episodic television series, one both intimate and raw, that captures the multiple layers of a featured artist. Its aim: to deliver the interviews and concert footage that can't be found anywhere else. The rare and special material. Consider Bootleggers to be your very own all-access pass, a chance to see musicians as they truly are before they step onstage, and what they become once the lights go on.

In an attempt to right the wrongs of so many music-oriented TV shows, Bootleggers Banquet was conceived by Hecho en Cine to satisfy the appetites of those who love live music and the touring artists behind the melodies. It's a simple concept--perhaps so simple it's been overlooked. Not unlike a great bootleg album, this is an honest, unfiltered, and unscripted look into the lives of today's most talented musicians, one performance at a time. Focusing primarily on independent rock & roll, Bootleggers will also explore blues, folk, country, bluegrass, and jam-band acts.

The pilot for Bootleggers Banquet focuses on Robert Randolph & The Family Band during a stop in Austin, Texas on their 2006 Colorblind tour. Their performances never cease to amaze even their most veteran fans, and this show further proves their musical might.
